How Sugar Thins Your Hair — FAST

In Uncategorized on August 25, 2009 at 5:34 am

It is common knowledge that one early warning sign of diabetes is hair loss. When your kidneys are unable to process carbs and sugars, one of the first reactions is loss of blood circulation to the extremities. This process is not hard to understand as the kidney’s are primarily responsible for recycling healthy blood.

The part that surprises most people is that your hair also requires blood circulation. Without it, the living part — the root, dies. Then your hair falls out and stops growing back. Interestingly, even if you are not diabetic, sugars, coffee, acids, stress and carbs impose and burden your liver and kidneys — leading to the same reduction in blood flow to your capillaries.

There are several other factors including LDL cholesterol that all contribute to creating arterial plaque clogging all the way down to the capillarial level. However, sugar and sweets in general are the culprits that has it’s hands in every biochemical event that leads to hair loss.
