Do you remember the last time you had to sit indian style for a long time? You got really sore and cramped – didn’t you? Well, if you stare at a fixed distance all day long, say as far away from your eyes to your monitor; all six of the muscles that control your focusing ability in each of your eyes have to be locked in that same position for a long time.

Your eye muscles cramp and your get red irritated eyes. Only instead of just your eyes being sore, you get a tension headache. The mechanics is simple isn’t it?

So instead of just sitting there indian style all day, you get up, walk, stretch, lay down and even squat. Well, treat your 6 optic muscles the same way. Frequently look to a vanishing point at infinity. Stare at the tip of your nose. Look over at the far wall. Keep those optic muscles moving. This would also require that you insist on a cubicle with a window with a view.

NEXT: What’s worse than optic muscle strain is optic nerve burn-out. This is the cause of poor vision and loss of night vision. See: http://jbni.us/details.html#Noagin
